Colorado
Julesburg Station
ulesburg Station was
located in Julesburg, CO which was named for
Jules Beni, a French Canadian frontiersman whose trading post was
established at the famous and hazardous Upper California Crossing of
the South Platte River. Beni was also a division agent for the Pony
Express although this was somewhat short-lived. Strange things began to
happen. Stage schedules were disordered, wagon trains were attacked by
outlaws and livestock was being stolen. Soon it was learned that Jules
himself was the leader of the outlaws and was discharged from his
duties with the Pony Express.

California
Sportman's Hall
portsman’s Hall was
California’s only home station. It was frequently called the “Twelve
Mile House” and sometimes was referred to as just “The Hall”. It opened
in 1852 by John and James Blair who had immigrated to California from
Scotland. No inn on the trail approached the size or the quality of its
accommodations. The meals provided there were famous to all who
traveled this way and many would actually go out of their way to visit
Sportsman’s Hall. It was said that there were no less than 1000 head of
horses and mules in the stables and corrals on many nights and 300
wagons would pass by daily.
